We are often asked how we approach our work and what tools we use to get things done. What we do can get complicated so it’s best to find processes and tools that simplify as much as possible.
How We Work
We operate with a clear purpose: to be the first choice of category leaders for UX/UI expertise and digital product design. Our process is a combination of Agile methodologies, Design Thinking and Lean UX principles. In other words, we work thoughtfully and iteratively with a focus on the outcomes.
The people on our team are all domain experts. There are no junior members, interns or bums-in-seats to fill up gaps and impress clients. We’ve borrowed the small group structure of Navy SEAL teams to reinforce our nimbleness and discipline. We invest a lot of time and money into creating new experts through our AUX program. Our incumbent team has their comfort zones rocked with the UXPERT program, which is a long-term deep-dive study that resembles a PhD.
Although we’re a service business at the core, our product is a constantly evolving set of disciplines and frameworks that can take ideas from concept to deployment in the shortest time possible. Think of our team as a platform for digital product innovation and creation. Here are some of the ways we work with our clients.
Our Tech Stack
Our Team keeps connected with Slack, and the tools on Google Apps. We store things on Dropbox. Our new business team use Rapportive and Yesware to enlighten new client discussions and Pipedrive to follow through on those conversations. We share project ideas and work with our clients on Basecamp.
We often create wireframes and prototypes on whiteboards and paper, as well as software tools like as Adobe Fireworks, Sketch, and InVision. Designs are built in Adobe Creative Cloud and project code lives in GitHub or BitBucket.
Our public conversations happen on Twitter, our Blog and sometimes on Medium. We connect face-to-face with the design and development community through the various national and international conferences and our own events, which we promote and organize using Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and Eventbrite.
