Here at Fresh Tilled Soil we will be teaming up with Future Insights to bring you this year’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) for Boston on May 15th. GAAD is a day where people of the Web unite to bring out awareness in how we build and design for the Web and people with disabilities. We are currently looking for speakers to contribute knowledge to the masses.
If you’re interested in presenting at Global Accessibility Awareness Day and are in the Boston area, you can hop over to the Future Insights blog and fill out a short call for speakers form!
About the event
The event will take place here at the Fresh Tilled Soil office (on the 4th floor) in Watertown on May 15th, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:30pm(ish).
If you’d like to attend the event you can register through our eventbrite page.
History of GAAD
The idea of a Global Accessibility Awareness Day started with a single blog post written by a Los Angeles-based web developer, Joe Devon. Jennison Asuncion, an accessibility professional from Toronto discovered Joe’s blog post purely by accident thanks to Twitter. After reading it, he immediately contacted Joe and they joined forces, leveraging their extensive and respective networks to realize the event.
