Go Botany
Web Application UI Design
Go Botany is a web application that helps users identify plants in the New England area & serves as an educational resource for the community.
The Go Botany app had a skeleton of back-end development in place when our team began working on the project; the New England Wild Flower Society was looking for a front end design that would present ecological facts and data in a way that made it accessible to users.
Our team "re-skinned" the app and designed a user interface that was ultra intuitive and user-friendly. The usability of the interface was of paramount importance to this project because of the diverse user base that the Go Botany app is intended for. Our UI designer, Emily Dunkle, delivered a fluid user interface design that included a lot of clear calls to action and data/search hierarchies to categorize & organize a a vast amount of data. New England Wild Flower Society was very pleased with the practical and aesthetic results.
The crew at Fresh Tilled Soil have been a breath of fresh air to work with. The designer and project manager are so efficient, responsive, and pleasant -- and immediately grasped all the complexity of creating our multi-faceted site. The evolving design is lovely, engaging, and fun. We're nearly complete on our first project (designing an educational website all about the plants of New England), and we'll happily embark on new projects with Fresh Tilled Soil!Elizabeth Farnsworth, Senior Research Ecologist, New England Wild Flower Society
